Cross Hole Sonic Logging (CSL) Test for Pile Integrity

The primary objective of the Cross Hole Sonic Logging (CSL) test is to evaluate the internal quality and integrity of concrete within bored piles. The test aims to detect any anomalies such as voids, cracks, fractures, segregation, or any reduction in concrete uniformity along the entire pile length. It is also used to assess piles with suspected construction defects during concrete placement, providing verification that the pile construction meets specified standards. The test results serve as essential engineering evidence and quality control documentation for site supervisors, project owners, and design engineers.

This testing method is typically specified in the technical requirements of major projects, such as high-rise buildings, bridges, dams, or other special structures where assurance of pile structural integrity is critical.
